Update on DIY Tiny House Project

Patrick picked up a perfect shell from Modern Tiny Living a few months ago, and we wanted to share a photo of his progress on the interior he is building himself! Looks great Patrick!

Like we mentioned yesterday, having a robust and sturdy shell built by MTL is a great option for people that may not have the space, conditions, tools or machinery needed to tackle the job themselves. The foundation of the tiny house movement is fueled by the DIY builder, and we are thrilled to help those ambitious enough to tackle a tiny house in any way we can.

That said, there is no shame in having a builder do the entire project for you! A tiny house DIY build should only be tackled by someone who is well-versed in construction, architecture, plumbing, electric, and design. We've seen countless DIY projects fall apart, or get abandoned, when the individual realizes that the project can easily take hundreds of hours (even for an experienced and qualified craftsman), and that building a truly roadworthy home takes careful planning and meticulous execution.

Whatever you choose to do, be sure to think it through before you commit - whether you want to build the whole thing yourself, pick up a shell and finish the interior, or have a builder help you make your design and dream a reality.
