Looking across the industry today, the average price per square foot is around $400. Today, the median price per square foot of a contractor built house in the U.S. is around $200. “The average cost per square foot is more because you’re consolidating everything into a small space,” says Giffin. “In construction so much of the costs are in the details.” And tiny homes require lots of little details to be fully functional.
