STEP 2: ESTIMATE YOUR COST AT THE QUOTE BUILDER
After selecting your model floor plan, work through our Quote Builder to determine exactly how much you’ll need to build the tiny house of your dreams! If you would prefer a custom model, we will need to invest a decent amount of time into providing you an estimate.
The process is as follows: 1. Pay $250 via PayPal 2. Email contact@moderntinyliving.com and put “Custom Quote Call” in the subject line 3. We will work to schedule that call within a couple days 4. The call typically lasts an hour 5. The estimate is usually emailed back within a week |
Step 3: GET FINANCING ON OUR FINANCING TAB
Here you will either plug in the number you calculated using our Quote Builder tools or the price provided from your Custom Quote.
Step 4: CONTACT US TO GET INTO THE BUILD QUEUE
Reach out to us at contact@moderntinyliving.com and put “READY TO START” in the subject line!
We will work through final details and send a purchase agreement out to you via DocuSign. Once signed and 50% deposit made, we have an in-house meeting about your build followed by an e-intro email connecting you directly to our interior designer or architect, if floor plan changes are necessary

step 5: Design TIME
You will spend 1 to 2 weeks working with our interior designer to make sure that your MTL tiny house has the exact look and feel you’re going for! If you have a custom floor plan, you will start with our architect and spend 4-6 weeks working on new drawings prior to graduating to working with our interior designer. Once you have signed off on the floor plan and design descriptions, we move to the next phase.
STEP 6: BUILD TIME
Usually, by the time you are finished working with our design team, your trailer and windows have been delivered to our shop. We then meet up with our build team and have a meeting with them about your build, showing them your designs and vision. If we aren’t on a long backlog, we will begin framing that week!
sTEP 7: Mid-BUILD
We require the 2nd payment, taking it from 50% to 75% paid, after completion of the shell. If you got financing through GetPowerPay, this isn’t an issue because they pay us directly and on a pay schedule they will explain to you.
STEP 8: Completion
We finish your build and put on the final touches, test all appliances and slap on that RVIA-certified seal of approval. The final payment is due upon completion but before delivery. Depending on how busy we are, the entire process usually takes 4 months for models and 6 months for custom units.
