One of the things that separates Modern Tiny Living from other builders is the partnership of a certified architect. In our case, that's Bruce Faris - the man, the myth, the legend.
Having a certified architect around is crucial for a variety of reasons. One, he is able to design your dream home from the ground up - and is qualified to do so. He can take designs, photos and priorities and create something custom tailored to your needs. Now, building a "pretty" home is standard in our industry, but building a pretty home that is structurally sound and roadworthy is totally different. Bruce takes things into consideration like snow load, your travel load, torque, weight distribution, and much more. Most companies just don't go into that level of detail and safety. Just because someone is a skilled carpenter or craftsman does not mean they know how to build a roadworthy tiny house on wheels that is going to stand the test of time. Bruce, of course, isn't just a certified architect, but a tiny home dweller himself. He knows first hand what it's like to live tiny, and by pairing his first-hand experience as a tiny house-liver with his technical experience - and combined with our design crew in Rachel Pitman and Cindy Hamilton - it enables our team to build designs at MTL that are the most beautiful, structurally sound, and safe tiny homes on the market. Round of applause for Bruce! For those that don't know, Modern Tiny Living is hosting a glorious tiny house festival at the Clark County Fairgrounds this Saturday, August 5th. We wanted to share our event agenda with anyone and everyone, as it's going to be a tiny-house-star-studded affair! We are bringing between 6-7 completed or in-process tiny houses on wheels to this Ohio show, and we're also going to have live music, tiny house industry expert speakers, delicious food trucks, local beer, and activities for kids!

We are in the thick of building this spectacular 32 ft. x 8.5 ft. tiny house on wheels for an adorable young couple, Shane and Sarah. This wonderful military couple commissioned a fully custom tiny house on wheels by Modern Tiny Living, and it's going to be awesome! We are so honored to be a part of their tiny journey, and can't wait to share the progress of this wonderful tiny home with all of you. As ambassadors for the tiny house movement, we are thrilled that the Columbus Dispatch ran a wonderful article on Modern Tiny Living and our work with our friends at the Cedar Springs Tiny House Village in Ohio. In case you didn't get to read the article, here is the link: Columbus Dispatch
We are proud to represent tiny house lovers in the Midwest, and will continue to work to bring awareness and excitement to the greater tiny home industry :)
It's Official: Modern Tiny Living has completed Koko2!
We are so proud to announce that we've just completed our 2nd Kokosing tiny house model (Koko2!), and are excited to start sharing the finished designs with all of you! People were so thrilled with our first Kokosing model that we just had to make another one, especially as Koko1 sold the day after its completion. With this model, we decided to go a different direction with our interior design, colors, and themes. Whereas the Koko1 tiny house by Modern Tiny Living was a blue, Nantucket-y color theme, we decided to make Koko2 more modern in its look, with black appliances over white cabinets and countertops. We maintained the same general layout that made our first Kokosing model so popular, including the famous sitting area that was perfect for watching Netflix, spending time with friends, and of course, sleeping (since it becomes a 2nd bed). For a 24 ft. tiny home on wheels, we believe there is nothing more livable, modern, and competitively priced than Koko2! Modern Tiny Living will have a full video walkthrough tour up soon, but wanted to give you these sneak peak photos on this glorious Sunday! Check out all of the photos for Koko2 on our tiny houses page! |
