Let it be known that Trent and the Modern Tiny Living team will do whatever it takes to get your brand new tiny home positioned exactly how you want it!
In this case, Coastal Modern was to be used as an ADU deep in the back yard of this existing home in Santa Monica, California, so we did what we needed to do...we craned it on in there. Trent and the MTL team drove from Columbus, Ohio all the way to Santa Monica to deliver this home in person, and the results were spectacular. Another happy customer, ready to live the tiny house dream! If you've ever wanted and up close and personal look at Modern Tiny Living's founder, Trent Haery, then you're in luck. Trent was recently interviewed on The Tiny House Experts Podcast, and he shares the stories, victories, trials, and tribulations of building the USA's leading tiny house company, Modern Tiny Living.
Want to get a better feel for our newest luxury tiny home on wheels? Here's the quick 1 minute walkthrough of Coastal Modern. Enjoy!
Introducing Coastal Modern, a gorgeous 24 ft. custom tiny home designed and built by our team at Modern Tiny Living. Coastal Modern is a very unique home. It's owner, Leah, dreamt of having a tiny home in the backyard of her home to be used as an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) for friends and family. We built Coastal Modern to be the perfect guest house, with plenty of luxury design touches. The designer kitchen area for Coastal Modern is stunning. Since the home is used as an ADU, a fully-equipped luxury kitchen was unnecessary. However, we still have a full-sized refrigerator/freezer and gorgeous farmhouse sink so guests have the essentials - cold drinks and clean plates. There are a few plug-in cooking appliances available, but those remain stowed during the day. Completing the look is gorgeous custom cabinetry and spectacular quartz countertops. Across from the kitchen is the retractable table, perfect for working from home, journaling, or brunch. A pass-through window makes indoor/outdoor living for guests easy as pie. The table stows quickly and easily should guests require more storage space, or if they simply desire more elbow room in the home. The full bath in Coastal Modern maintains a small footprint, but enjoys a boutique hotel feel. It features a custom tiled shower with honeycomb and subway tile, black hardware, and a glass half-door. Very attractive. The full bath also features a small sink and an incinerating toilet. Last but not least, the custom stairwell - which always features gobs of storage and cubbies - leads to a king-bed loft, which includes a custom bookcase privacy wall for those that need to sleep in while others are cooking up breakfast. All told, Coastal Modern is a beautiful, simple tiny home that exemplifies Modern Tiny Living's ability to customize a home for its customers' intended real-world priorities and uses.
As one of our custom tiny homes, Coastal Modern would start at $99,000. Check out the entire Coastal Modern photo gallery here Specifications Trailer: 24 ft. Composting toilets are a type of toilet that use bacteria to break down and decompose human waste into compost. They are often used in tiny homes, as they are a more environmentally-friendly and water-efficient alternative to traditional flush toilets. There are several pros to using a composting toilet in a tiny home: Saves water: Traditional flush toilets can use several precious gallons of water per flush, while composting toilets use significantly less water, or no water at all. Reduces the amount of sewage: Composting toilets reduce the amount of sewage that needs to be treated, as the compost produced by the toilet can be safely and easily disposed of on site (and even used in a garden.) Environmentally-friendly: Composting toilets reduce the amount of water pollution caused by sewage, as well as the greenhouse gases produced by the treatment of sewage. Can be used off the grid: Composting toilets can be used in areas without access to a septic system or municipal sewage treatment, making them ideal for tiny homes that are off the grid. There are also a few cons to using a composting toilet in a tiny home: Cost: Composting toilets are often more expensive to purchase and install than traditional flush toilets. Maintenance: Composting toilets require regular maintenance, such as adding composting material and turning the compost, to ensure proper decomposition. Odor: If not properly maintained, composting toilets can produce unpleasant odors. Limited capacity: Composting toilets have a limited capacity and may need to be emptied more frequently than traditional flush toilets. Overall, the pros of using a composting toilet in a tiny home, such as water and environmental savings, may outweigh the cons for some people. However, it is important to carefully consider the costs and maintenance requirements before making a decision. Our preferred brand (no ad): Nature's Head Feast your eyes on the newest tiny home designed and built by our team at Modern Tiny Living, the custom 26 ft. Ulla-Carin!
Ulla-Carin is a spectacular 26 ft. custom tiny home designed and built by the Modern Tiny Living team in Columbus, Ohio. When we build tiny homes for our customers, we always encourage them to name their home themselves and to make it personal. We believe a tiny home is an exciting milestone for people and that they desire a moniker that best reflects something memorable for the owner. So why Ulla-Carin? In the case of this beautiful home, the owner's family hosted exchange students from Sweden when she was growing up. It was an experience that she fondly remembered. One of the exchange students, Ulla-Carin, left such an impression on her that she decided to name her tiny home after her all these years later. Not only that, but Ulla-Carin's mother was also an exchange student, and she had stayed with the owner's grandparents growing up. As such, Ulla-Carin and her family had been connected to our owner over several decades, and now this tiny home is paying homage to that cherished relationship. As for the home itself, Ulla-Carin features several spectacular features that make this a perfect tiny home for full-time living. The first floor master bedroom is a dream zone, and includes an overhead king-loft for guests. The other side of the home features an additional loft, which can be used for extra storage or snoozing if needed. This tiny home also enjoys a gorgeous kitchen with extended butcherblock countertop for meals or those times she needs to work from home. A full bath is also included, as well as a full-size stackable washer and dryer. All told, Ulla-Carin is a spectacular, livable custom tiny home by our designers and craftsman at Modern Tiny Living, and we're honored to have a played a role in this owner's story. Specifications
